- Herpes genitalis: this condition is very common and is usually caused by the herpes simplex virus.
The cream should be applied once a day, preferably before meals to the affected area. Apply Zovirax Cream on the affected area twice daily, preferably in the morning and evening. Apply Zovirax Cream immediately after applying the cream. Do not cover the affected area with a skin rash unless it has already healed after the application of the cream.
The most common side effects of the cream are:
- Nausea: this side effect usually passes, but it does not usually last. If any of the following side effects occur, they are usually mild and go away after a few days:
- Asthma: Asthma (wheezing) is a very serious condition. The symptoms of it can be very bad. If you have any of the following symptoms, do not drive or operate heavy machinery until the symptoms have gone away, such as: cough, shortness of breath, wheezing or trouble breathing, coughing up blood or vomit that looks like coffee grounds, chest pain, fever, shortness of breath, coughing up vomit that looks like coffee grounds, wheezing or trouble breathing, you should contact your doctor immediately.
- Allergic reactions: these may happen to anyone who is allergic to aciclovir or valaciclovir and may include: hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, tongue and throat. This can happen to anyone who is allergic to aciclovir or valaciclovir and may include: rash, itching, red or swollen skin, severe dizziness, nausea and vomiting, itching or hives on the skin, fever and skin rash.
